London.Wham!Pop,glitzandglamour.Andtwogirlswithstarsintheireyes.Ourfriendshipbeganonewindydayin1982,outsideFinsburyParktubestation.Itwasaninstantlikeatfirstsight.WewereonourwaytoaWham!rehearsal.Pepsiwasthenewgirlinthebandandoveracarstereo,acassettetapeandthatjourneytoBusheywebonded.Wehadnoideathatwewereonthefirstofmanyjourneystogetherandthatsoonwe’dbetravellingalloverEurope,Australia,America,ChinaandJapan.Orthatnomatterwherewewent,together,we’dfindawaytomakeeveryexoticdestinationfeellikehome.We’dbothbeenteenagersduringtheseventies-adrearyanddifficultdecade,especiallyifyouwereyounginLondonandyoudidn’thavemuchmoney.So,in1982,anythingwaspossibleforus-apairoftwentysomethingswhohadn’tbeentouniversity,whodidn’thaveanymoney,whodreamtofsinginganddancing,butultimatelylivedforfun.Everythingfeltnewandlifewasaquestionmark.Wehadnoideawhatwaslyingahead,butwewantedtosayyes.Whatwedidn’tknowwasthatweweresayingyestoalifetimeofconnectionthathasenduredwhateverwe’vedone,whereverwe’vebeen.Fromthesideofthestagetoitscentre-wehavemanystoriestotell.Andit’sallhere,it’sallinblackandwhite.
